In this descent management module you will learn the theory and techniques for managing a canyoning descent. This module covers all the required skills to effectively, safely and efficiently manage a rappel from rigging tactics and anchor management, to setting the rope length, sequencing and belaying. Learn what potential problems can occur when retrieving your rope and how to manage abrasion damage to your rope. 

This module covers all the key skills for you as a team leader to move a team of canyoneers safely, from start to finish down a vertical pitch. We recommend you have good personal ‘on rope’ skills and knowledge of rigging. Or have at least taken the ‘personal movement and safety’ and ‘rigging module’ to get the most out of these instructional videos.
